As I sat down yesterday at 9 in the morning after having finished up some laundry, unloading and loading the dishwasher, and cleaning all three of the litter boxes (did it sink in that this was all before 9 in the morning?!), I was feeling pretty good about myself. Very accomplished. And then I got to thinking about all of the other simple pleasures that make me feel like a rock star now that I’m a mom. I came up with 12. Because, 10 is just so common these days. 😉 What makes your list?

This is accurate to every last word! I wear jeans everyday, does that make me lucky?!

I think that makes you glamorous! 😉

The floorboards!! Definitely the floorboards!!!!!! AND washing, drying, folding and returning laundry to the appropriate drawers all in the same…week.
June 5, 2013 at 9:14 pm
The laundry thing never happens here. I’m always like 3 loads behind.

I totally agree with your entire list every single one of them. I feel like if I manage to get dressed, brush my teeth, get the house straightened and the kids are still living at the end of the day, I am super accomplished

The kids living part is definitely pretty important! I high-five myself on that one daily. 🙂

13. Washing, drying, folding and putting away all the laundry in the same day.
14. Getting my workout in.
15. Having fun with my kids- not just parenting them.
16. Vacuuming– I realize how incredibly lame I am.
17. Putting on an “outift’ not just clothes
I love this post!

Love it! It’s the little things, right?
June 10, 2013 at 11:46 am
Yup — we have to cling to them when it seems like we’re losing it! 🙂
June 7, 2013 at 8:40 pm
I have never in my entire life been able to match all of the socks. Never. Ugh!
Great post!
June 10, 2013 at 11:46 am
Never ever? I think it’s happened to me like 5 times. Ok, maybe 3. But it does feel good!
June 7, 2013 at 9:02 pm
Oh my gosh! These are all spot-on for me. One of my simple pleasures now is being out places during the time of day that I’d have been working before. Being out when other people have to be in an office somewhere is AWESOME. 🙂 Oh, and I’d add finding my cell phone. I look for that thing all. day. long.
Great post!

Yes, the cell phone! And the baby. Sometimes I’m not sure where he gets to.

Getting to work early (used to be a daily) not just on time.
Drinking my coffee while it’s still hot
Getting in my morning run.
When those things happen, I always wonder where my applause are.
June 10, 2013 at 11:48 am
I’m going to applaud you just for having those things on your list! *slow clapping over here*
June 14, 2013 at 12:27 am
hot coffee is a rock star moment for me for sure!
June 10, 2013 at 4:56 am
Eleventy billion times made me LOL so hard.
I love this list!!

Love this post!
For me, besides the hot coffee, there are:
– putting on clothes before breakfast (otherwise i’m stuck in pjs all through the making breakfast, cleaning after the breakfast, cleaning poop and reminding to go on the potty.. basically all morning sometimes)
– actually exercising (not just day-dreaming of how nice this would have been)
– following up on all phone calls that i planned previous evening (most of the times i only remember of them after my kid goes to bed. oh yeah, did i mention, i only have one kid! how pathetic am i)
June 25, 2013 at 8:37 pm
You are not pathetic at all . . . being a mom to 1 or 100 kids is completely stressful! And thanks so much, I like your additions. 🙂
